World Iron and Steel Association: In October 2021, the global crude steel output decreased by 10.6%

In October 2021, the crude steel output of 64 countries and regions in the world that were included in the statistics of the World Steel Association was 145.7 million tons, a decrease of 10.6% compared with October 2020.

 

Crude steel output by region

 

In October 2021, Africa's crude steel output was 1.4 million tons, an increase of 24.1% over October 2020. The output of crude steel in Asia and Oceania was 100.7 million tons, down by 16.6%. The CIS crude steel output was 8.3 million tons, down 0.2%. The crude steel output of 27 EU countries was 13.4 million tons, up by 6.4%. The crude steel output of Europe and other countries was 4.4 million tons, up by 7.7%. The output of crude steel in the Middle East was 3.2 million tons, down by 12.7%. North American crude steel output was 10.2 million tons, up by 16.9%. South America's crude steel output is 4 million tons, up by 12.1%.

 

Top ten countries in crude steel output from January to October 2021

 

In October 2021, China's crude steel output was 71.6 million tons, down 23.3% from October 2020. India's crude steel output was 9.8 million tons, an increase of 2.4%. Japan's crude steel output was 8.2 million tons, up by 14.3%. The output of crude steel in the United States was 7.5 million tons, an increase of 20.5%. It is estimated that Russia's crude steel output is 6.1 million tons, down by 0.5%. South Korea's crude steel output was 5.8 million tons, down 1.0%. Germany's crude steel output was 3.7 million tons, an increase of 7.0%. Turkey's crude steel output was 3.5 million tons, up by 8.0%. Brazil's estimated crude steel output is 3.2 million tons, an increase of 10.4%. Iran's crude steel output is estimated to be 2.2 million tons, down by 15.3%.
